An angle frame composed of L5x3x1/4 angles spans between structural steel beams to frame a roof opening, with the vertical leg trimmed at the joist. Three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds secure the angle framing to the support members, with an optional connection detail provided for alternative installation. The roof deck is welded to the surrounding angle framing, and openings less than twelve inches in diameter require a separate detail. Additional support frames must be installed beneath mechanical units according to typical roof-top details.
