A six-to-eight-inch deep steel beam frames into a supporting steel beam web using a three-eighths-inch thick shear tab welded to the support with a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. The supported beam is secured to the shear tab with two seven-eighths-inch diameter A325-N bolts. Vertical edge distances are set at one and one-half inches, with bolt spacing maintained at three inches typical and a maximum distance of one inch.
