A buckling-restrained brace connects to a wide-flange column and beam intersection using gusset plates sized per the manufacturer. The gusset plates are welded to the column and beam flanges with weld sizes specified per the buckling-restrained brace manufacturer. A shear tab connects the wide-flange beam web to the column flange using a bolted configuration sized per plan. Internal column stiffener plates align with the brace work point to transfer concentrated lateral loads across the column web. For additional information, refer to sheet 1/S7.04.
