An angle brace connects to a hollow structural section column and a wide flange beam through a three-eighths-inch thick gusset plate. A work point is established at the intersection of the framing centerlines. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths inch secure the brace and gusset plate assembly. The wide flange beam connects to the column web with a bolted shear tab.
