Metal decking runs parallel to a supporting steel beam. The metal deck is welded to the steel beam per the specifications. A closure strip of the same gauge as the metal deck is provided by the deck manufacturer as required. Dimensional clearances require two inches minimum at a single row of studs and five inches minimum at a double row of studs.
