A hollow structural section column above supports a full-depth purlin via an eight-inch square bearing plate dapped into the purlin and matched to the flange thickness. A one-half-inch knife stiffener plate runs the full depth of the web and extends to the end of the bearing plate, welded with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. A wide-flange beam per plan connects with a wood filler and five-eighths-inch diameter threaded rods at twelve inches on center top and bottom, staggered. A fascia beam with countersunk bolts attaches to the assembly with a maximum cantilever span of three feet six inches.
