A reinforced concrete grade beam supports an adjoining slab on grade with specified width and depth per schedule. The beam contains continuous top and bottom main reinforcing bars, supplemented by top added (TA) and bottom added (BA) bars, and enclosed by stirrups sized per schedule. Side faces receive number five reinforcing bars each face when the beam depth exceeds thirty inches. Two number four dowels spaced at sixteen inches on center with one foot eight inch embedment tie the slab on grade into the grade beam.
