This assembly features a joist girder framing into a hollow structural section column, topped with a one-half inch cap plate and a continuous three-by wood nailer. The nailer is secured to the steel beam with two three-quarter inch threaded rods with washers spaced at twelve inches on center, with the hardware countersunk into the blocking. The joist girder bottom chord connects to the column via a one-half inch by six inch by eight inch stabilizer plate, which is left unwelded to the stabilizer plate per the note. A one inch by ten inch plate and a one inch by one foot thru plate are welded to the column with three-sixteenths inch and one-quarter inch fillet welds. Roof sheathing is fastened to the continuous nailer with two rows of diaphragm boundary nails as specified on sheet 01S2.3, while knife plates and additional connections are referenced to details 02S4.2 and 05S4.1.
