A hollow structural section strut connection incorporates embedded steel plates, gusset plates, and welded reinforcing elements within a concrete assembly. The plan view and sections E and F detail the interface between the HSS framing members per plan and the concrete edge, utilizing 1/2 inch by 8 inch plates, 3/8 inch by 8 inch by 1 foot 2 inch plates, and a 1/4 inch gusset plate. Reinforcing includes 4x4-W2.1xW2.1 welded wire fabric with epoxy grout placed after welding, along with embedded reinforcing bars grouted with low-hydration grout. Fillet welds of 1/4 inch and 5/16 inch size secure the steel plate connections across three sides as indicated.
