Pipes passing through or below concrete footings require specified clearances and trenching offsets. Sleeves must maintain a one-inch clearance all around the pipe and be caulked as needed. No sleeves are permitted through the footing within the middle portion as indicated by six-inch and nine-inch dimension zones. Pipes running parallel to the footing require a minimum one-foot-six-inch horizontal offset with a two-to-one slope restriction line preventing excavation too close to the bearing zone. Pipes passing below the footing require a maximum three-foot depth and a minimum of six inches of concrete surrounding the sleeves with a one-inch clearance all around.
