A steel column bears on a steel base plate set over 1 1/2 inches of non-shrink grout atop a concrete foundation and stem wall, secured with anchor bolts. The anchor bolts are surrounded by three sets of ties at 2 inches on center within a concrete pier. Continuous stem wall reinforcement runs through the assembly adjacent to an exterior slab-on-grade, with a concrete pour back sealing the slab interface. A concrete footing supports the assembly below the minimum frost depth with 3 inches of minimum cover.
