A pipe sleeve passes through a reinforced concrete beam with supplementary steel for shear and confinement. Two different placement conditions are shown: one positioned close to the bottom of the section with a haunched drop and two number-five six-foot-long side bars at each face, and one positioned clear of the top and bottom reinforcement with two number-five six-foot-long side bars at each face. Additional number-four stirrups are placed at each side of the sleeve. Minimum and maximum dimensional clearances are maintained around the pipe sleeve.
