A concrete slab poured over a metal floor deck terminates at the flange of a steel column. A steel beam connects to the column web or flange via a shear tab with multiple bolts, supported laterally by a diagonal kickers or angle brace welded with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld typical. The slab edge detail accommodates the structural steel column penetration while maintaining edge formwork and reinforcement clearances.
