An angle section strut bracing member sized 3x3x1/4 connects a joist and a wide-flange beam sized per plan to accommodate an additional 0.8 kip seismic load acting either up or down. A 1/4-inch by 2-1/2-inch stiffener plate welded with a 3/16-inch fillet weld on three sides reinforces the beam web at the connection point. Additional 3/16-inch fillet welds secure the angle brace ends.
