An HSS3x3 diagonal brace frames into vertical columns and a horizontal member using three-eighths-inch thick gusset plates welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typically. The vertical columns feature connection plates as specified per detail six on sheet S-605. A horizontal beam connects to the columns using typical C1 connections with three bolts each. Work points and centerlines are established for alignment, maintaining standard clearances such as a two-inch typical gap at the brace end.
