A half-inch thick gusset plate connects a hollow structural section to a supporting beam, sized per plan. The connection utilizes a plate measuring one half-inch by eight inches by eight inches, secured with two one-inch diameter A490 standard bolts. Three sixteenth-inch fillet welds are specified at the plate connections with twelve-inch and three-inch spacings. A base plate is welded to the beam per sheet K15/S-542.
