Two open web steel joists are supported by a central joist girder. The joist seats are secured to the top chord of the joist girder with field welds. The weld requirements are specified as one-quarter inch by two and one-half inch fillet welds for LH series joists and one-eighth inch by two and one-half inch fillet welds for K series joists. The roof deck is installed over the top chords of the joists, with size and attachment requirements determined by the project schedule.
