A stair stringer terminates at a reinforced concrete footing, secured by an inside angle connection measuring 4 inches by 4 inches by 1/4 inch by 8 inches long with two 3/4-inch diameter anchor bolts spaced at 5 inches on center. A 3/8-inch thick closure plate is welded to the stringer assembly with 3/16-inch fillet welds. The concrete footing is reinforced with two continuous number 5 rebars and provides a 1-foot 6-inch depth with a 3-inch clear cover. An angle connection by the manufacturer ties into the upper stringer as indicated on the site plan.
