Shear studs are welded through metal deck into supporting steel beams using single, tandem, or triple rows as permitted by beam width. Spacing is maintained at twelve inches on center at the ends and twenty-four inches on center in the middle spans. When high stud quantities exceed available single rib capacity, a second row is introduced in each rib starting at the ends with a three inch minimum clear spacing.
