A structural steel beam connects to a canted glulam column using a three-eighths by eight-inch plate on each side of the column secured with two three-quarter-inch machine bolts in vertically slotted holes. A one-inch gap is maintained between the steel beam flange and the top of the column. A diagonal beam bracing member connects to the steel beam web. Fillet welds of three-sixteenths inch are typical throughout the connection. Beam bracing is omitted where perpendicular beams occur.
