A concrete shearwall edge configuration features an eighteen-inch by twenty-four-inch thickened edge zone containing five number eight vertical bars running full height and placed as shown. The edge zone is reinforced with number three ties spaced at eight inches on center. A horizontal hook bar matches the size and spacing of the horizontal reinforcement and provides a thirty-inch minimum lap into the wall panel. Hold-down bars are placed on each face per elevation with space bars at six inches on center. Clearances include two and one-half inches at the top edge, one and one-half inches typical at the bottom face, one and three-quarters inches from the panel face, and one inch at the lower interior panel surface.
