Steel beams frame into a column with a slotted web to receive a shear plate. The connection utilizes a one-and-one-quarter-inch thick plate with a yield strength of fifty KSI secured by eight three-quarter-inch diameter A307 erection bolts. Four three-quarter-inch diameter machine bolts fasten the top assembly with fillet welds specified at three-eighths inch on three sides typically and a five-sixteenth-inch weld at the shear plate. Steel beams are sized per plan and tied into the column support.
