A hollow structural section member connects to an embed plate cast into a concrete element using two three-quarter-inch diameter through-bolts and two L4x3x5-sixteenths by zero-foot-six-inch angles with slotted holes. The embed plate measures one-half-inch by eight inches by one-foot-two-inches and features four one-half-inch diameter by six-inch studs welded with one-quarter-inch fillet welds typically. Additional reinforcement includes a number four U-bar provided where embedment height or edge distance is six inches or less relative to the concrete edge.
