An S10x35 crane rail beam spans beneath hollow structural section posts sized 3x3 by 1/4 inches, which connect to an overhead wide-flange beam and metal deck or slab assembly. The connection features a one-quarter-inch cap plate at the top of the HSS column where applicable, secured with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typically. The crane rail accommodates a maximum allowable point load of eight kips at the chiller crane and two kips at the pump crane at each span, with splices provided where required.
