Additional framing members including 6x8 wood beams with a maximum span of ten feet and 4x6 joists support the mechanical unit curb. Simpson HUTF series hangers connect sawn-to-sawn framing while WPU series hangers connect joists to nailers. The full perimeter sixteen gauge welded curb attaches to the new mechanical unit per manufacturer specifications and rests upon typical wood beams with two-by-four blocking at twenty-four inches on center using a 'U' hanger. Ten-penny boundary nailing is specified per the diaphragm nailing schedule. Seismic anchorage is provided via Simpson SDS screws with eight total fasteners measuring one-quarter inch by two inches as detailed in the seismic anchorage plan view.
