A roof joist bears against a structural steel column or beam while remaining left unwelded at the indicated location. A stabilizer plate is provided below the joist bottom chord, with its size coordinated directly with the joist manufacturer as sized per plan. The connection configuration ensures proper lateral stability without imposing rigid moment restraint.
DO NOT WELD ROOF JOIST - SEE PLAN STABILIZER PLATE - COORDINATE SIZE W/ JOIST MANUF.
