A vertical reinforcing bar extends from the concrete slab into the concrete masonry unit wall core, lapping with the main vertical reinforcement by a specified length Lmv. The dowel is anchored with a hooked end embedded in the concrete slab maintaining a one-inch clear cover. A bond beam course is integrated into the wall above the slab intersection. Vertical reinforcement and dowels are sized to match per structural requirements.
