A concrete mat slab ties into the side of a reinforced concrete pile cap at the basement level. Reinforcing bars from the mat slab extend into the pile cap with a specified lap splice length designated as Lsbt. A grade beam is positioned below and visible beyond the primary connection plane. The elevation datum for the assembly is set at zero feet, five inches.
