A buckling-restrained brace gusset plate connects to a framed column. The column size and orientation are determined by the elevation and plan drawings, aligning with the structural grid lines. The connection incorporates square plate washers sized per schedule and additional anchor bolts as required to maintain maximum bolt spacing based on the required gusset length with a minimum of eight bolts. A buckling-restrained brace gusset supplied by the brace manufacturer is welded with a five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld on four sides typically. Complete joint penetration welds and double-bevel welds are applied at specified locations.
