A structural steel frame connection details a hollow structural section column supporting steel beams and a diagonal brace. A half-inch thick fifty ksi gusset plate passes through the center of the column web with web stiffeners on each side. An HSS brace connects via a knife plate detail centered on the gusset plate, secured with quarter-inch welds on three sides. Additional quarter-inch by two-inch by six-inch plates are welded to each side of the HSS brace. Steel beams frame into the column connection with bolted clip angles and fillet welds.
