An open web steel joist bears onto an open web steel girder with field welds specified at the bearing seats. A girder bottom chord brace is provided by the joist and girder supplier at the joist nearest mid-span of the girder and at the first joist on each side of the column. Connections utilize typical fillet welds denoted on the drawing.
