This detail outlines a heavy steel column base plate connection anchored by six 1-1/2 inch diameter ASTM F1554 Grade 105 anchor bolts. The base plate is a 2-1/2 inch thick steel plate with six 2-3/8 inch diameter bolt holes and a 1 inch diameter grout hole. A shear lug measuring 2-1/2 inches by 6 inches by 1 foot 8 inches is welded to the assembly. A vertical brace connection plate is welded to the column web with a 1/2 inch fillet weld. Additional reinforcing steel is provided per sheet S-603.
