A concrete stair on grade includes bottom reinforcing bars sized at number 4 placed below each riser and number 3 bars at 12 inches on center. The stair footing features two number 4 bottom reinforcing bars with a minimum 12-inch depth and 10-inch width. A number 3 nosing bar is placed at each tread. Section A-A includes a continuous 3/4-inch by 5-inch keyway at the building wall or cheek wall with number 4 dowels at 12 inches on center featuring standard hooks. Where a cheek wall is required, an 8-inch thick concrete wall with number 4 bars at 12 inches on center each way is specified.
