A multi-directional moment connection frames wide flange beams into all four sides of a central wide flange column. Complete joint penetration welds are specified typically at the top and bottom flanges of the beams. Stiffener plates are aligned with the beam flanges across the column web. The transition width of the beam flange tapers as required to match the connection geometry.
