A connecting wide-flange beam frames into the web of a supporting member using a shear plate welded to the supporting element and fastened with high-strength bolts. A second connecting wide-flange beam attaches on the opposite side at a dropped elevation, with the vertical offset varying per structural framing plans and notes. The shear plates, welds, and high-strength bolts follow typical structural connection conditions as specified in the framing schedules.
