An elevator rail support tube bears on a structural angle anchored to the top of a concrete footing or slab. The structural angle, specified as an L8x6x1/2 by 1 foot 0 inches, is secured with two three-quarter inch diameter by 6 inch headed studs embedded at a 45 degree angle into the concrete at 10 inches on center. A quarter inch fillet weld connects the rail support tube to the embedded angle.
