A reinforced concrete grade beam supports a stepped concrete slab condition with a six-inch high curb. The footing is twelve inches wide by one foot six inches deep minimum, reinforced with three number five continuous bars top and bottom, and number four bars at twelve inches on center continuous. A vertical dowel or hook of one number four continuous bar ties into the curb containing two number five continuous bars. The adjacent concrete slab rests on compacted subgrade, detailed per architectural drawings for handrail and slab elevations.
