An HSS8x4x hollow structural section elevator separator tube frames into a supporting steel beam assembly with an L5x3 1/2"x3/8"x0'-4" angle welded with quarter-inch fillet welds. A continuous 3/16-inch bent plate is detailed at the elevator sill location, anchored by 1/2-inch diameter by 18-1/8-inch Nelson deformed bar anchors spaced at 12 inches on center. The structural connection is detailed in both elevation and section views adjacent to the elevator shaft opening.
