A structural steel beam supports an overhead metal deck and connects below to fourteen-gauge Z-channels spaced at twelve inches on center. The Z-channels anchor to the beam flange using fasteners and extend across to tie into the top track of a cold-formed metal stud wall. Metal studs spaced at sixteen inches on center frame vertically into the slip track or ordinary track connection. Fasteners include zero-point-one-five-seven-inch Hilti X-U powder-actuated fasteners with three-quarter-inch embedment at each Z-channel.
