A glass fiber reinforced concrete roof connection featuring hollow structural section framing and welded plate assemblies. An HSS 5x5x5/16 tube spans vertically with a 3-inch diameter oversize hole and a three-eighths-inch thick stiffener plate welded to one face using typical quarter-inch fillet welds. An HSS 5x5x3/8 tube runs between verticals with a cover plate, tying into the structural steel beam below. A three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch square plate is welded to all intersected beams, supported by a three-eighths-inch stiffener plate at one face. The concrete slab is blocked out as required to accommodate the bearing joint and embed assembly provided by the GFRC fabricators.
