An HSS beam connects to a wide-flange column using welded connections on three sides top and bottom, with connection details sized per plan. A wide-flange beam or channel frames into an HSS column featuring a cap plate at the top of the HSS column and bolted connections sized per note three. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size join the framing members to the support columns as indicated by the weld symbols. Plan symbol markers identify each specific connection type for structural layout coordination.
