A hollow structural section post connects below a roof steel beam sized per framing plan. A quarter-inch by eight-inch by zero-foot-six-inch plate welds to the top of the hollow structural section post with a three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. Four three-quarter-inch diameter bolts fasten the plate to the steel beam.
