An HSS3x3x1/4 hollow structural section is positioned between outriggers and connects to an existing concrete wall with a half-inch base plate. The base plate is secured using four half-inch diameter Simpson Strong-Bolt 2 expansion anchors with a two-and-a-half-inch effective embedment. The outrigger features a mitered connection to a transverse beam and is detailed with a quarter-inch complete joint penetration weld on three sides. All exposed steel is specified as AESS-1.
