An exterior concrete slab terminates at a thickened edge supporting a threshold angle and a glazing or door assembly. A three-eighths-inch diameter by thirty-two-inch smooth rod is anchored at sixteen inches on center at the door opening with a minimum of three rods. The slab incorporates number four reinforcing bars at twenty-four inches on center with continuous number four rebar in the thickened edge. An alternate detail specifies a speed dowel at sixteen inches on center with a number four by twenty-four-inch reinforcing bar.
