A custom stainless steel access ladder is mounted inside a reinforced concrete surge chamber with standard wall and floor brackets welded integral to the ladder. The 3/4-inch diameter stainless steel rungs are spaced at 12 inches on center and the assembly includes a Bilco LU-3 stainless steel ladder safety post. The brackets are anchored to the concrete structure using half-inch diameter stainless steel Hilti KB TZ 2 expansion anchors with 3-and-3/4-inch minimum embedment per ESR-4266. A bonding lug with number 8 solid insulated copper wire connects the pool reinforcing and is covered with underwater-approved 3M potting compound. The ladder is finished with a yellow epoxy paint.
