A boxed cold-formed steel stud rests in a steel runner track secured to a concrete substrate. The runner track is fastened to the concrete using 3/8-inch diameter Hilti Kwik Bolt TZ expansion anchors with two inches of embedment, supplemented by powder-driven fasteners like Hilti X-U spaced at 24 inches on center with a 1 1/2-inch minimum embedment. A 3/32-inch fillet weld connects the boxed stud to the runner track. The boxed stud assembly is detailed with an 1/8-inch weld and intermittent connections.
