Steel floor beams connect to a structural steel column at the top of the column using top and bottom flange plates bolted to the beam flanges. A cap plate tops the column, sized using the larger of the two flange thicknesses with a clearance offset. Continuity plates align with the beam flanges inside the column web to transfer flange forces. Bolt sizes and counts for both the first row and additional rows are scheduled per plan.
