A structural steel column bears on a base plate with a thickness of one and a half inches, supported by anchor rods embedded in concrete. Heavy-duty washers with standard-sized holes are provided at each anchor bolt, while oversized holes are detailed in the base plate. A layer of non-shrink grout fills the space beneath the base plate, with leveling and elevation control provided and coordinated by the contractor. Column bearing elevations and anchor bolt sizing are coordinated per the structural plans and base plate schedule.
