An insulated precast panel connects laterally for out-of-plane forces to a concrete slab on metal deck supported by a structural steel beam. A continuous bent plate measuring 1/2 inch by 6-1/2 inches anchors to the slab edge with 3/8-inch diameter by 3-foot long dowel bar anchors at 1 foot 0 inches on center maximum. The general contractor and precast subcontractor must coordinate locations to avoid conflicts with raised floor pedestals and provide a 3-inch horizontal slotted hole at each panel tieback. Continuous three number 5 chord reinforcing and continuous one number 3 bar with number 4 L-dowels at 12 inches on center maximum reinforce the slab edge. A 1-1/2 inch conduit penetration passes through the slab while leaving chord rebar uncut.
