A continuous 3/8-inch bent plate is embedded in the concrete slab and anchored with continuous number 5 reinforcing bars welded at 24 inches on center. A continuous L5x3x1/2 long-leg-horizontal angle supports the guardrail assembly, which is coordinated with architectural drawings. The bent plate and angle assembly bear on a steel beam with a 2-inch bearing width, secured using specified fillet welds around the structural members.
